There are a million stories out there in the naked city, and this is one of them. Only this one has to do with Skateboarding. Edison field parking lot was the sight for the ESPN  2001 B3 (Bikes, Boards, and Blades). Anaheim home of Disneyland, the Anaheim Ducks and Gwenn from No Doubt. Everybody knows the best skateboarding takes place in parking lots, right? The park course was burly with it's 30 grit flat bottom guaranteed to take some flesh with a simple hand check. It was however in true ESPN fashion with lots of different style handrail's from a shotgun handrail to a new roof top design. Some say was named after Mike Escamilla a.k.a. "Rooftop". Chris Senn was blazing and  utilized every rail in the house! Chet Thomas was right behind him every step of the way into a 3rd place finish. Chris Senn won the day with a perfect run to take 1st. Chad Bartle came in 2nd. Vert Dog Bucky Lasek managed a 10th place finish. Everybody was pretty much stoked on the turn out. What a tough job I have!

It was a good day L.A.  especially when I don't have to use my A.K. The sun came out and it was on! The best Vert Skaters in the world turned out. From Brazil to Baltimore it seemed like every spot on the globe was being represented. Rune Glifberg destroyed and slapped the competition around like a red headed step child (no red headed step child was harmed during the making of this article). Pierre Luc Gagnon, a.k.a. the French Connection, busted out all day long to a 2nd place finish. This truly was one of the best Vert Finals I have ever seen.
